In 2016, Shenyang Municipal Government rolled out a special plan to improve the city’s public transport system. By the end of 2017, the city is aiming to become a model city in China with highly developed urban public transport system.

Recently, 97 units Golden Dragon hybrid city buses arrived in Shenyang,
providing greater mobility for local citizens with safer, faster and more
comfortable daily public transport services.
So far, 13 express bus routes and 18 normal bus routes have been added to
Shenyang’s Public Transport System. With an addition of 870 units city buses and
newly built bus routes measuring 154.7 kilometers in length, Shenyang is now on
the fast track to become one of the model cities in China with well-connected
and green public transport system.
